The Silhill Select XI, delighted 4-1 winners on Sunday 9th October 2011 of the second annual match for the Stuart Hudson Memorial Cup. This was at Sharmans Cross Road against the Stuart Hudson Friends & Colleagues XI managed by Gavin Meanley. Money raised benefited the charity Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) of Tadworth, Surrey (www.c-r-y.org.uk).

On 3rd October 2009 Stuart had passed away suddenly at the age of 31 whilst playing at home for Silhill 4ths against Northfield Village in Birmingham & District AFA Division 5. In consequence, the team’s no.5 shirt - which he made famous as centre back & team captain - has been retired for ever, celebrating his playing career at Silhill FC from the age of 16.
